Hayley Geftman-Gold, a New York attorney from Brooklyn, has provided legal counsel for major companies such as Viacom and CBS. Outside of her role as a lawyer, Hayley Geftman-Gold is a member of the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue (BHS), which promotes an inclusive community, life-long learning, and caring and support for the world.
A part of this mission has been carried out through the BHS Social Justice Committee’s involvement in the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) Religious Action Committee (RAC). The Social Justice Committee was formed to promote initiatives for justice, human rights, civil rights, and the advancement of progressive Jewish values. Members of the BHS community joined the Social Justice Committee at RAC’s virtual town meeting in May 2021. The meeting addressed behaviors in the community that counter inclusiveness. Specifically, the meeting sought to address behaviors, practices, and policies through a perspective of racial diversity, inclusion, and equity. By looking at these areas, the platform hoped to encourage change.
